Privacy and cookies
Last updated 5 September 2026
This page explains what happens to information when you visit ovrick.com. The short version: this site sets no cookies, and nothing is measured about your visit unless you have explicitly allowed it.
Who is responsible
The controller of the data described here is Tiago Mendes Jerónimo, trading as Ovrick, a web design studio registered in Belgium, working with hospitality businesses in Belgium and the Netherlands.
- Address: Rode Ridderhof 8 bus 10, 2300 Turnhout, Belgium
- Enterprise number: 1042.139.393 (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises)
- Contact: tiago@ovrick.com or +32 451 02 53 41
Write to that address for anything on this page, including any request about your data.
What is measured, and only with your permission
If you press Allow on the privacy banner, this site loads two measurements from our host: Vercel Web Analytics, which helps us see which pages are actually read so we can improve them, and Vercel Speed Insights, which reports how quickly the page loaded and responded on your device. Speed Insights measures the page rather than the person: it records no identifier and sets no cookie. If you press Decline, or simply never answer, neither script is loaded and none of the following is collected.
When it is enabled, each page view records:
| Collected | Example |
|---|---|
| Event timestamp | 2026-09-05 09:06:30 |
| Page address | / |
| Route pattern | /[slug] |
| Referrer | https://www.google.com/ |
| Query parameters (filtered) | ?ref=newsletter |
| Approximate location | BE, Antwerp, Turnhout |
| Operating system and version | iOS 18 |
| Browser and version | Safari 18 |
| Device type | Mobile |
| Analytics script version | 1.0.0 |
Visitors are not identified by a cookie. Instead a hash is derived from the incoming request, which lasts at most 24 hours and is then discarded. We want to be accurate rather than flattering here: although this data is pseudonymous and is not used to identify you, and cannot follow you to other websites, we treat it as personal data under the GDPR and ask your permission before collecting any of it.
The legal basis
Your consent, under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. We do not rely on legitimate interest for analytics. Belgium, where this studio is based, applies no exemption for first-party or audience-measurement analytics, so consent is asked for and honoured before anything is loaded.
Who else sees it
Analytics data is processed by Vercel Inc. (United States), which also hosts this website. Vercel acts as our processor under its Data Processing Addendum, and transfers outside the European Economic Area are covered by the European Commission's 2021 Standard Contractual Clauses. Nothing on this site is shared with advertising networks, and there are no third-party embeds, trackers or social widgets.
How long it is kept
The visitor hash is discarded after 24 hours. What remains is aggregate statistics, such as the number of views a page received, which cannot be traced back to an individual visitor.
Cookies and storage
This site sets no cookies. What it stores in your browser, and the control for changing your analytics choice, are on the cookies page.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask for access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing. You can withdraw consent at any time using the button above, without affecting what was lawfully collected beforehand.
In practice, because the data described here is pseudonymous and discarded within 24 hours, we will usually not be able to find records relating to a particular person. That is a consequence of collecting as little as possible, and we would rather keep it that way. Write to tiago@ovrick.com for any request and we will explain what is possible.
If you get in touch
The form on the home page sends us your name, email address, an optional phone number and your message. Nothing else is collected with it, and it is used only to answer you.
The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us. Consent is not required for this and the privacy banner has no bearing on it: the form works the same whether you allowed analytics or not.
The message is delivered by Resend (Resend Inc., United States) acting as our processor, and arrives in our mailbox. We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to answer you and to handle any work that follows. There is no spam filter that profiles you: the form uses a hidden field, a timing check and a short-lived count of recent submissions per IP address, not a third-party captcha, so nothing about you is shared with an advertising network. That count is held in memory only, for abuse prevention, and is never written to a database or used to identify you.
If you would rather not use the form, email tiago@ovrick.com directly.
Complaints
If you believe your data has been mishandled, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Belgium that is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit (Data Protection Authority). Visitors in the Netherlands may instead contact the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes to this page
If what we collect changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. If the change is material, the privacy banner will ask again.
